One-Day Trip to Erg Chegaga
Experience the beauty of southern Morocco on this three-day, two-night adventure. Departing from Marrakech, travel through the High Atlas Mountains to the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, before continuing to Zagora. Explore the Draa Valley and the vast dunes of Chgaga, where you’ll enjoy camel rides and breathtaking sunsets. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp in comfort and safety. On the final day, travel along the historic Paris-Dakar route and the dry lake of Iriki before returning to Marrakech, bringing with it unforgettable memories of the breathtaking Moroccan Sahara landscape.
Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou Zagora
After lunch at the hotel, set off in a 4×4 vehicle towards the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, the highest pass in Morocco. Enjoy a traditional Berber tea in the Atlas Mountains and visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Morocco’s most famous kasbah. After lunch at the passes, continue your journey through the Draa Valley to Zagora, where you will spend the night in wonderful hospitality.
Day 2: Zagora - Al-Mahmid - Shaqaqa
After breakfast in the riad, visit the Quran library in the village of Al-Fakhharin before heading to M’hamid via the palm grove of Ouled Ibrahim and its ancient village. Enjoy a bird’s nest in the lap of nature before continuing your journey to the vast sandy peak of Al-Shuja’iyya, the highest in Morocco (300 meters). Watch the breathtaking sunset, followed by dinner and a meal in a traditional tent, offering ultimate comfort and safety.
Day 3: Taznakht Chagat - Marrakech
After a private breakfast on the dunes, enjoy a camel ride before setting off to Foum Zguid via the historic Paris-Dakar route and the dry lake of Iriki. Have lunch in Taznakht, then return to Marrakech, arriving in the late afternoon.
